Anyone got a spare one lying around?
I cracked both inlet & outlet pipes when I installed my new gearbox, so I soldered them up again & hooked up a bike pump to it to pressure test it & there's a hole in the bloody core too!
So if anyone can help me out, that'd be great.

By the looks of the pics of rods engine bay, the heater core sits in a different position inside the car, so I would assume it would be different.
Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks for the offer though mate.

Bigworm,
Mate I have the old core out of Tina's at home. I busted off one of the Heater outlets fitting the new engine so just fitted the spare core I had from the parts car.
I have the outlet there withit (I think) I just hope the one I fitted (Well Joe fitted it actually) doesn't leak !! ???
The TA22 and RA23/28 ones are Very different !

Just so you know most radiator shops can get new cores for these still.
Mine kept leaking and I kept getting ones from the wreckers that'd last 6 months.. In the end paid $90 for a new core and never looked back!
Just food for thought
Cheers
Joel

Hey Juzzo, rod said the '22 and '23/'28 ARE different, so unfortunately, you can't help. Thanks anyway. At least it's summer & I don't really need to use the thing much.
Joel, rod was saying the same thing, but I'd prolly have to do the same thing you did before I could shelled out a hundred bucks or so for a newie.

Yeah thats understandable!
I actually found an overturned ra23 in a paddock out the back of goulbourn. Looked like it had been there for a year or 2. This overturned ra23 now has no heater core

Totally off topic but its funny what you can find in a paddock. I have watched over the last few months as an RA40 on the way to work has slowly turned from a driveable complete car to what now looks like its been in a demolition derby. Mind you thay are using it as either a skateboard or motorbike ramp !
(Both I think ! )
And Joel, After Tina's old core burst and stuffed the carpet in the pornstar $90 for a new core didn't seem to bad. I would have done it in her RA28 too but I had the other core just siting there so will try it first !

Thanks everyone for your help, but I took karls advice & cruised down to Graemes & picked up a core & a heated o2 sensor.
Those guys are bulding themselves a new off road racer, this time it's powered by a VG30DET (yep, the single turbo). I'd love to have a rap of one of these things one day!
