Damn T Series

Despite the fact that my celica has now gone to a g series diff, I still have mates running with T series in their celicas, and they just KEEP ON DIEING without any really apparent abuse.
Don't suppose anyone would have a spare T series center lying around would they?
(Mods: If you think this is in the wrong area, just get rid of it, I've put on in wanted parts already.)

Yeah, It's my mate Dave, he's going to eventually go the g series route, but he's too hard up for money atm.
I've just gone the g series route, and since he's smashed his t series, he's using my old t series center,
but I would like to find him another one so he could lock it.

its called torque and you probably dont have much traction down the back end anyway

i have busted about 4 or 5 T series centres now... and i think a lot of it could be attributable to not setting the backlash correctly when installed.
Of course i have no idea how to set the backlash so i never did it, just assuming it was all good on the centre i was chucking in at the time.

Oi Allan, My SA63 Diff Center is about to give out after your warnings, it's not sounding too healthy
And I have been babying it around town *DAMN T-Series Diff*

THanks all the same mate, but I do need the pinion gear, as that's the bit that breaks all the time. usually.

How about removing all the metal fragments from inside the diff and just weld it up I am thinking about that as the previous diff was way beyond welding and now is at the rubbish tip
Cheers.

not so easy when your pinion gear eats itself to bits

i've gone thru 2 already
one with just a 2s-c and another infront of go knows how many ppl at the drags.
I'd just done the burnout. I've lined up my 1st time ever so i had no ideo what to do then i watch the tree light up it hits red i drop the clutch at about 3500 rpm then BANG ! the engine hits redline and it's all over 250+ kms drive and $160 to blow a diff.

Was that the price of a rebuild or a price of a second hand one?
