I recently purchased a rwd 4age - Conversion going well so far with engine bolted into car.
I was about to get stuck into the wiring when I opened one of the two ecu that came with the engine.... and found this(pic below).
I figured that this is why it came with two ecu and the other was its replacement. I opened that one and found that a resistor had been burnt out.
Is it common for components to burn out on these computers? I get the feeling the second with with the burnt resistor still works to some degree as the engine was apparently pulled from a drivable ke70.
Not sure what the last person that wired this engine was on... has anyone got the same ecu (89661-12250) and can tell me what resistance "r513" is?.
thanks for the help guys... i will wait until i finish the wiring for the engine, and test the least burnt ecu before i purchase another. last install must have involved some "trial and ERROR"

you would have to do something very bad (B+ to E1) to do that to a DENSO computer.
