I'm assuming whne it gets here, it'll have all the paper work filled out "import approval, etc. etc."
so all you need to do is spend 1200 on compliance, and another , x amount on rworthy, 500 on rego.

compliance in your state is all thats required, then rego
I dont know what compliance costs in Victoria so you'd have to ring around your local engineers
Obviously headgasket too, but thats mechanical

...
come on man, it's extrememly rare to even look for a 180SX under 9k...it is sold normally at 12k price range...
7k is considered to be a "miracle" deal...
but for people in WA they may get this a bit cheaper as they don't have to do compliance hopefully

'cough' 15 year rule 'cough'
I'd check the RTAs website im positive no more 15year old imports are allowed into the country to be rego'd - may only be NSW but im pretty sure its the whole of Aus. Can only be brought in under the race/rally scheme so not road registerable

Better see your doctor about that cough.
Imported many cars? Ive done about 40 or so in the last 12months and Im well aware of the rules and where its at, as you clearly arent.
Opinions are fine when based on knowledge, so try and keep that in mind.

The reason for prestige having that written on all their cars they sell is because he feels it absolves him of any legal responsibility regarding the cars and the approval. He will offer no assurances of the cars legality. If for instance the car is a november 90 build and the DOTARs office knock it back he'll just say "oh well too bad, you should have checked" and he'll offer no financial remuneration. This car is an 89 model and there is no legal reason for the approval to not be issued so PLEASE, if you have nothing to do but spread half truths go elsewhere and stop shitting in my thread.

heh guess i should have said it clearer, 7k is a little high for me cause im poor
i know its a cheap price for this thing, besides the head gasket and the weird paint ( wich i dont really care about ) this car seems almost perfect condition.
you know what sux though, i have the 3500$ for the car right NOW almost all in cash ( rest in bank ). The only problem stopping me from having my dream car ( a 180 ) is the 2500$ LOL...sux to be me
anyways, is this car sold yet? hope it IS NOT as im trying to scrape up that extra 2500$, if i get this thing i will be over the moon

Car is still available at this time
Note that the $2500 is NOT payable till the car actually lands which is around 8-9weeks away yet so theres time to sell that spare kidney if required. (or acquire one if you have a bathtub full of ice)
