usually a 16valve or 20valve 4AGE sporting quad throttles, a 10,000rpm rev limit which they need to sit on, straight thru exhaust, and a helluva lot of weight reduction. Very wild mods.

also, pick up Drift Battle Magazine in your newsagency. They usually have tons of Hachi Roku tech in there.

16v 4age with quads/carbs is the most popular
satoh runs a modded 4agze
maeda runs a turbo 20v 4age
hibino soon to be running a sr

so true, 4age's are a great engine, but require big $ building to make them produce big power.

The Formula Atlantic 4AGE's with 16V heads produced 240hp (175kW.) That's approaching 110kW/L for an NA motor. In my mind that's getting close to the limits of a production based motor.

Depends on which way you power it, N/A i would say about 170-180hp, F/I 200hp with the right tuning.
Cheers

Would they really use stock internals? I thought that'd go straight for aftermarket ones to bump up the compression (N/A cars)?

I was at 119rwhp with a stock bottom end. Only replaced the head because one of the old valves was cracked. Put in a 0.8mm TRD HG then too. Makes soooo much difference

it isn't?, it doesn't look like one (thats for sure lol), but im pretty sure its a Formula Atlantic 20 valve, each company makes its own style cam covers and intakes and stuff, it might be a 16v, but most of the top level Group-A shit uses 20v so im just guessing
also, i finally found a site i found a year back that actually sells them, they're $14,500 from toysport i was surprised how many different race engines they sold

Hmm?, thats wierd, i think there must be heaps of mixed opinions on it, cause i found one site that said that 16valves were run in group A and both 20valves and 16s were run in formula atlantic, but everyone knows 20valves are run in group a aswell!,

Good to see that people are using my site without referencing it. Or even a thanks
As for using 20vs in GrpA and FA, they dont. They did for about a year, but the port design and squish areas are better on the 16v so they went back. To put it bluntly the 16v craps all over the 20v in high horsepower applications. Hasselgren engines are around the $12-15k mark depending on whether you buy several engines for a season etc.

maeda`s car has a 20v turbo with angry cams,(i know ive heard it in real life ) NOS and is putting out 400ps. The car is also stripped of all excess weight including the indicators.
