ZZT231 wrote on Tue, 26 April 2005 14:35 | Hey All,
I just changed my master cylinder and rebuilt left and right caliper but I get this on the right caliper... Does anyone have an Idea what the problem could be?
I have also replaced the pads (the old ones did the same as the new ones), bled the system (well Allan did it for me)

Can't speak for anyone else, but I can't really tell what the problem is from those photos. Please explain what exactly the problem is, maybe then we can help.
Is something sticking? Wearing unevenly? What?

The pad contact is not even. You can see the inside bit of the rotor is rusted over -- meaning the pads arent contacting it. I think hehe.

Those pads look like the ones I put on my ma61 a couple o' weeks ago
Does the other side of the disc share a similar or inverted wear pattern??
I'd be guessing its new rotor time.

Thanks all for the reply,
Allan, I'll yap to you on Messenger
Viper, it's just that one side (outward facing) of the rotor... before the brake caliper rebuild/swap all was good and currently the otherside of the rotor the pad is making 100% contact
*Me think I got a stuffed caliper but how?
It's to late now to fart around with the brakes, I'll play with it more tomorrow...
Cheers.

If the inside is contacting properly try swapping the inner and outer pads - might have a faulty one. Also check that the pad is sitting properly in the caliper on faulty side. Then try swapping the rotors over and see if you still get the problem. That'll tell you whether it is a pad or a rotor problem.

Look at the back of the caliper, it has two rubber thingies sticking out there.
if u take off the rubber thingies, u will see two bolts that the caliper is sliding on, if the pads dont bite on both sides of the rotors, it simply means the bolts are rusty or have no lube on them. lube them up, force the caliper to slide sideways, it should slide fairly easy, but its takes a lot of force to get them to slide when their either rusty or out of lube.
