Hey guys,

I think this is a known problem with Haltechs, but the ignition is starting to cough and stutter, with more boost, can anyone recomend a unit? The HKS one? Anygood?

my car does that too dont know wat causes it but i got a 3sgte with ems... it realy shits me after the car is warmed up and been runnin for more than 30 mins it will cough and splutter if i give it a squirt or if i sit on the hiway for more than 10 mins it will splutter and carry on until i get off the hiway

haltech igniters should be good for nearly 400rwhp and assuming you are running a E6K E8X or the good one Esomething:)

But if you are using the standard toyota ign module and haltech no they don't play very well together and are only compatable for around 200rwhp.

I think you need to look elsewhere sparks perhaps.

I'm running a old E6A Haltech on my 3SGTE with Toyota igniter's and 4AGZE coils , I can run over 30 lbs boost with no problems .
What sort of plugs are you running if they are iridium or platinum throw them in the bin and fit a set of Denso K20PRU's and gap them to .030" .

Yeah-start by closing up the gaps in you plugs to .6-.8 mm or so. Also make sure they are in good condition. See if it misfires on boost then.

so yous rekon iridiums r shit?... i got them and i got the same problem as koffee black but mine only does it wen its at operatin temp wen i take it over 4000rpm or i sit on the hiway for longer than 10 mins... it will cough and splutter and wont rev

and are u sure its ignition i had another problem lol full of problems.. the vacum hose on my fpr wasnt on there so it hard a hard time keeping up...
