hey man your JZZ30 is rather sweet!
will look even awesomer when you have the wheels on it
how much power were you making? i.e. how much boost could you run before you were hitting bosst cut?
Cheers
Matt

Making 228 rwkw at 1.0 bar boost (*14.4444psi). The fuel cut defender got rid of my boost cut at about 14 psi as per the factory 1JZ-GTE ECU. The fuel cut defender is only there to allow for minimal spike without sustaining a nasty jerk from the old auto box. For daily driving I keep it at .85 bar (the lowest the ct12a's will allow with current mods) but suffers from bad boost creep at high rpm.
Not sure which path tho take with a turbo upgrade. I don't just want a dyno queen popping out huge numbers that don't mean jack when i can't run a 12sec pass because of wheel spin.
More pics soon with the new wheels and lowered suspension.

I got a hold of a G-Tech unit and put down a 12.9sec 1/4 mile with lots-o-wheel spin. Not bad for stock turbos, wonder how accurate the g-techs are?

come and test it out on the 21st. Trying to get as many soarer owners to come to willowbank as possible. Mostly ALSC guys. If you can go quicker than 13.42 then you make it into the top 20 1jz list!

I've read about this meet on the ALSC site. Hoping I can get off work that day. Would be nice to be in the top 20

I have just bought a garret t60 turbo for my Soarer. The turbo has 60mm compressor wheel and .63 exhaust housing. I'm cheap so I'm going to be using linked stock manafolds. This is going onto the car in the next few days, once i have the time to pull the old ones off.
With this and my other current modifications I am hoping to push the limits of my 2jz 44occ injectors with the help of the SAFC 11, so I'm guessing 260+ rwkw?
I can't wait

just always wanted to know why the single turbo is better than factory twins? just bigger and more boost and can't afford two or what

The factory turbos will max out at about 230rwkw. The bigger single allows more boost and better exhaust flow and a much higher power figure with the right supporting mods. The bigger single will also have a stronger bearing core and compressor/exhaust wheel allowing for the higher boost.
But this comes at a price, a much greater lag in the turbo's response. Then big single is a price compromise on an aftermarket twin setup as these are much more expensive to install.

IT IS IN!!!! But with no exhaust connected and no waste gate actuator fitted... The actuator bracket is fowling on the suspension pillar and the shop didn't have the time to connect my new dump to the exhaust. So I have to car this weekend.
New trust type S blow off valve was fitted as well.
The car was started with no exhaust and it sounded HAWT. I can't wait to drive it

I have the car back... MY GOD... it pulls from 3000 all the way through the revs to redline ON 10 PSI. The car sounds pretty different, deeper and more growly. I haven't connected my AVCR up to it yet because I want to run the turbo in properly on about 10 psi. Then more boost

Sounds good mate
Have you got it tuned or is it at the same tune as it was for stock turbos? Be careful giving it some until you know what Air fuel ratio it is running.
let me know when you are going to Willowbank. Make it 20th August if possible

Today the car went through some test. It went on the dyno and down the 1/4 mile. But the car was having boost cut issues, thanks to my piece of shit fuel cut defender. So here is how it all went down.
On the dyno it put down 217rwkw at 4500 RPM @ 1.0 bar boost. As it hit 1.0 bar it cut and that was the end of the dyno run , did the same thing a few times. It was frustrating because you could hear the turbo start to get serious only to have the cut come on.
On to the 1/4 mile. This was my very first time at the strip. I only got 1 good run in (still with boost cut) and got a time 13.89. On the run it pulled nicely through 1st an second staying under boost cut , top of third cut, all of fourth the car was gurgling, stupid boost cut. I was happy with the result considering the difficulties the car was having.
I'm hoping to get it to run 20 psi so I cant get some true figures of the cars capabilities.
