4ac water pump problems Wed, 27 April 2005 01:34 Go to next message
Hi, the sprinter i just bought had done a water pump recently, so the blokes son replaced it just before i bought it, now i have it i got the car running and when i got back from a 2 minute spin in it, the damn water pump i stuffed again!! It's all wobbly and the fan is on but its like theres a shaft inside that's busted or something. Would this have been included in the new water pump or do you think this is just bad luck and he should have replaced shaft as well? I have a pic of the fan hanging off if someone needs to see it, but cant seem to post it here. Please help!!!

The shaft is apart of the front face of the waterpump. That sounds really dodge though, maybe the part they replaced it with was faulty? They're only about $50 to replace (This was a quote from an auto shop for a new 4ac RWD waterpump, I don't know if this is the complete pump or just the front half, as when I got a new FWD waterpump for $70, it was only the front half) and isn't exactly a hard job, good luck!

Its the pump. Where did he get it? if it was new just take it out and tale it back to him and get him to change it. Or he coulda just got a dodge one from a wreckers and slapped it in. Either way hand him back the pump and kick him in the nuts hehe Laughing
