Will an MA70 Supra Rollcage fit into my soarer? Wed, 27 April 2005 01:52 Go to next message
Simple question really, I have the option of purchasing a cheap MA70 Full Cage and i was wondering if it would fit into my soarer (GZ20), has anyone tried this before?

Cheers

Matt

I doubt it very much... Chassis is the same but the body is completely different

If you are serious about bodily protection, get one professionally built by an expert.

In my club car (RX2), I got mine done by Lance Walker, and he did a superb job.

Also, get a weld in one, not a crappy bolt together one, or an alloy one.

I have seen the results of some accidents with poor/alloy/bolt together cages, and the results are not pretty.

Cheers

And i have seen the results of a bolt in cusco Safety 21 after a 3 time roll over and the driver walked away, if he didnt have the cage he would be dead. At a meeting with cams last week they have said that they will allow the bolt in jap cages as they do not make the car more unsafe

the japanese have been using the bolt ins for years...

I am going to get the rear half of whatever i get welded in anyway.

but walker chassis do an excellent job on cages, and on my next car which will be full track only I will probably be sending my car there Smile

Still don't trust them anyway.

My life is worth more than about $1250 or so....

yeah thats fair enough, but with my car still remaining semi street, the front bolt in half is the only feasible option IMO

Tell me more about the CAMS information - were bolt in cages allowed for multi-car circuit events and rallies, or only events where a cage is not required at all but deemed 'nice' to have in the vehicle ?
Thanks.
