GM, Ford havnt done anything original since the mid 70's.. Dare I say that if it wasnt for European and Japanese car companies, we'd still be driving around in tacky-oversized pushrods with 'vicious animal names'
No but everything aside, I think its a worry that I read an article a year or so ago from GM or FORD, cant remember which inwhere one of the head-desingers believed its prototype V16 12litre 1000hp luxury car would be the way of the future....

Hi,
I'm sure the Japanese government put pressure on Toyota to do this. It would be because import tariffs would hurt the Jap economy and the government is concerned. I doubt that a large multinational company would, on its own good merits, do something like this without being requested by its government.

Now, I wish the australian cars were so darn fantastic, except they are not. Boring whitegoods on wheels for the most part. My usual rant.
