G'day everyone,

First post, but I've been lurking on and off for the last few months. In the next few months, I've got a bit of a decision to make - JZX90 Mark II with extremely limited mods or go relatively nuts on an MX83/1JZ swap. I've got a couple of questions regarding the engine swap path. First, has anyone who has done the swap used the panels that came with their front cuts in order to dress up their cressida? I really like the look of the jap spec cars - I fell in absolute lust with them when I saw a couple in a HPI editorial page almost a year ago. I'm usually the type of guy who doesn't care too much about what the car looks like as long as it goes hard - those JZX81s were the exceptions that proved the rule.

Second question, what did you do about suspension and brakes?

Silly question, but what about insurance? I got a quote about two months ago from Shannons for $2200 fully comp with a $13k agreed value. Its an alright premium I guess for a 24yo male (I'm rating 1), but seems excessive compared to about $1700 for a soarer.

The rational part of me is saying "JZX81s will come under the 15 year rule in a couple of years, go get yourself a JZX90", the passionate impatient side of me is saying "dude, go nuts and enjoy the awesome power now".

Its a tough decision, but hopefully some of you guys can help me in my struggle! Smile

front cuts get caried around on forklifts with minimal care so i wouldent count on getting straight ones when you buy yours.

Hadn't thought of that. Still curious about what sort of brake and suspension setups people are using.

Thanks for your response.
