legally (in NSW) 6" wide MAXIMUM.
as for diameter, 1" larger than stock.. ie 13".

anything more than that needs engineering.

you would be a fool to go bigger than 15x6 anyway.

You step into the rice factor when you go much bigger than 15" on such a small car. They look more like a hilux when their on 17's.

Here is a pic of a KE25 (very similar to a KE20, most people can't tell them apart) with 16x7" wheels (engineer certified Very Happy ).

Click on the pic to see it enlarged.

Cheers,

Fool.

You can fit 7" on the 25's as the tare weight is 810kg and isn't the minimum 800kg for 7" wide wheels(This is what i have been told).
I am running 14x6.5" globes on mine:

I like your car, but there is no way I would go any bigger than what you've used on it. As I said 17"s make them look like a hilux.
Just one quick question though, your 16 x 7's can't be leagal can they? Just for the reasons that Stewart mentioned.

Everyone has different tastes mate, which is great because it gives us the variety of cars we see on this forum (be boring if we all did the exact same thing). There is a KE20 getting around Canberra with 17" Simmons on it and in my opinion it looks a little bit roller skate, but hey, if the owner is happy then thats what counts.

My car has 16" wheels because it seemed that they suited the look, they filled the guards and they allowed tyres to be run with a bit of rubber on them (i.e. a high enough profile that it wasn't just a rubber band stretched around the rim). This is my only car, so it has to do everything, trackdays (driving to and from), drags (drive a few hundred km's to and from), drives to the shops, trips to the coast, I even throw a set of roof racks on it and drive across the country to bike races with my bikes on the roof and a car full of luggage.

Very legal, I have an engineers report for them and various other mods in the glove box, I have been through numerous vehicle inspections by the RTA without a single problem, and have been over the RTA pits for rego inspections. All with no probs at all.
