Hey all
Have any of you z20 owners managed to get your cruise controll to work over 108kph? Also have you got rid of that annoying tinkle sound over 105kph? I do a bit of country driving and both these problems are driving me insane!
Cheers
Matt

Well then at least there is hope to get rid of the dam tinkle! It is interfering with my tunes!
I wanna know what the hell is the point of a cruse control that only works to 108. You only need the cruise for hwy driving and then i want to be doing at least 120!

The Japanese do that for their domestic market cars as they have no speed limit over 100km/h & don't want to encourage their customers to drive over this limit.
I did know of someone who could reprogram the controller becasue they still have a chip in them.
Dunno where you'd get this done though.
Next time you go for a highway drive, take a passenger & get them to try to figure out where the tinkle is coming from.
Maybe others on here know where the tinkler is & you could simply unplug it.

The chime comes from a part just behind where the speedo is projected. It's on the same circuit board.

Chime is a easy one to remove and to make the cruise work firstlt you need to remove the cruise control computer and there is a guy in Canberra/Qbn that modifies the ECU

Chime is easy to disable, mate has put a switch on his. Cruise control isn't as straight forward, I'm intrigued about this guy who modifies them, I thought you could only do it with the later model Soarer ones.
There could be some merit in trying an Australian delivered MA70 cruise control module, hopefully it may be the same and they can set their cruise to whatever they want.

i have devices which would adjust the speed signal goin to the crusie control ecu
maybe this could work
i have not tested it yet
but theres one speed senosr signal i think goin to cruise control unit and this is how it reads the speed so maybe if this gets modified then u can do it

For the tinker bell lollllllll, its somewhere behind the dash and under it maybe if u removed the plastic covering on top of the drivers side foot well where the bonnet release lever is u might find it , I actually haven’t tried to find it myself , but have been told that that’s where it is , its just a small metal chime ith a ringer and all that needs to be done is remove the connection to it , don’t need to pull the whole damn thing off
For the cruise control , go to www.planetsoarer.com and check out the article on how to remove the cruise limit ( this is for the later model soarers though , but im assuming they will be similar) its just a simple matter of soldering a wire to bridge something , not very sure what though have a look
But both these problems are easy to fix
