Hey guys, i hav the opportunity to get a 18R-G (i think) reconditioned head for free (it one of the twin cam ones). At the moment i have an 18R-C in my rona, but the guy givin it to me recons it wil fit straight onto where the 18R-C heads comes off? Is this true? I wouldn't have thought so? If it is, how hard will it be to install? is it a matter if just bolting back into place and hooking up a bit stuff? Let me know if its worth it guys! Thanks heaps!!

oil pump drive gearing,
timing chain cover
water bypass hose
top timing chain guides (assuming your head is complet you will get 2 out of 3 of these the other one connects to the timing chain cover)
top timing chain (98p3 is what you are after costs about 15 bucks from sprint auto parts),
pistons.
I think that is the basic requirements.
with the exception of the guides, most can be found easily enough.

the oil pump is larger on rg, front pully on the crank is differnt the location of the timing marks are different dip stick is on the other side unable to remove with carbies on. Don't try it you'll end getting a hole motor just for parts any way grab the head and buy a hole motor and use the head.
