A friend of mine just visited his grandfather in Tassie who is looking to sell a white/cream ta/ra22-23 (friend doesn't know) with 76k on the clock!
THIS IS NOT A JOKE! 
It has had one owner (now quite elderly), barely ever driven, garaged EVERY DAY SINCE IT LEFT THE LOT
He is gonna sell this car locally but I just had to get the word out to people who are gonna truly do this car justice
(Read: TT 1uz-fte  )
So flood me with responses and I'll pass them along.
(P.S He has no idea of cars value - this is a golden opportunity if you've got the cash and are willing to transport it from Tassie)

I'd like to point out that the odometer on a TA22 only goes up to 100,000. An odometer reading of 76,000 doesn't mean much because it could have gone around the clock X number of times - you just don't know!

sounds like mine.
119,000 miles.
elderly owner who gave/sold it to her nephew/whatever, garaged all its life, still has the TROUBLE LAMP!
only thing it needs is a good coat of paint.
and it has no rust, well, it *had* some in the battery tray - and thats it.

Very valid point norbie, but I failed to mention that this vehicle 'apparentley' (I haven't been to TAS to see it) has full log book from day one and the original paint was described as new.
Don't quote this as gospel, I am merely trying to help anyone who's keen for bargain

sounds like a good buy, about 2 weeks to late for me
i picked up a ta23 only has 65,000 log books to prove it also

i just want to point out that even if a car has log books that doesnt still mean that its done that many k's, there are many tricks out there for getting log books for a car that doesnt have them

I'm interested and I just realised that i actually live in tassie also, what a coincidence! anyway, do you know where it is in tassie? I would only buy it is it was a bargin price and if the car is as good as you say it is but i would like to check it out as soon as possible.

As I mentioned in my first post, the car is being sold by my friends grandfather, so any info you guys want I have to chase up. ie pics.
I'll ring my mate now, get some more details and post them asap.
Freaky - I can absolutley assure you that the odometer HAS NOT been fooled with. This is an honest sale by some honest old people, but that doesn't mean that one us Toy freaks shouldn't have it.
Munki - You'ld have to include a pack of gum with that mars bar and coke offer
As far as I know I drives fine, looks awsome etc.
Once I'm off the net Ill make some calls (damn dial-up)
