K head on 4K / options Sat, 30 April 2005 08:09 Go to next message
Okay,

I bought the 5K off matho that has what is aparently a 'K' head (and this is aparently a good thing, according to those that know rollas, me, i played with geminis),

- old
its running the hydrolic lifters off the 5K, warm cam etc aparently, i've chucked it in the car today, and it rattles its nuts off, the pushrods seem too short or the lifters aren't pumping up at all.. even after a couple of laps around the block etc..

what bits are wrong? what do i need to do to get this working?

i did try searching but i couldn't seem to find anything... any help would be appreciated...
/old

- NEW BITS

okay, i have a ke55 that is my everyday to work transport until my hilux is finished, i'd like it to go faster, i scored some bits off matho that included a 5-speed (which is the main bit i wanted) but now i have all these extra bits and i can't help thinking i can make something out of..

currently the car has a 4k with the K head on it, seems to be not too bad, but i soon will also have a complete 5k, 5k = good thing?

I need something that still starts easy as it is my day-to-day, but i feel the urge to play with it Smile

Get flat top pistons, modify your lifters to solid and use 4K rockes and pushrods Wink

ahh so just easy stuff then Smile

ive put the K head on the 4k now, (because when we took off the thermostat housing on the 4k head, we snapped a bolt.. )

it was pinging its chops off.. so we retarded the timing about 20 deg... turns out i can't align dizzys properly Smile
