Main seal in 4age

Hi I have got the 4age in my AE82 finally. It is going great! it is using a fair bit of oil and I am not sure where it is going!
Have done a comp check, and it passed with flying colours, it doesn't put it out the exhaust at start up or after idle and it isn't dripping on the ground.
All I can think is that it is the main seal behind the flywheel. What do you think? how hard is the main seal to replace, (pull off the sump and main bearing or does it just go around the output shaft??) also the clutch shudders on take off, that is why I am thinking it is the seal.
Thanks

i know the front main seal is easy to replace. The main seals are a common place for the twinkies to leak

you dont have to remove the sump or the main cap. just remove the flywheel and hey-presto, there is the seal. the housing has 6 bolts. a juddering clutch usually indactes its warped from overheating. get the flywheeel machined when off.

Thanks heaps. How difficult is it to drop the box whilst it is in the car? anything I should look out for when I am undoing bolts.
Thanks

Easy, get the car up as high as you can and bear in mind it's a bit heavy. Don't drop it on the driveshafts.
