Sounds too good for a 4A, no ear piercing 'I WISH I WAS DEAF' sound.
If its a 4A, then you've done well on exhaust choice, or you weren't flogging it enough.
Either that or there is a turbo muffling the 4A nastiness.

doesn't sound of a turbo, but that sort of volume can be made, right exhaust, and it doesn't sound like it was taking much of a flogging really.. i suppose it depends on what you call a "Flyby"
the other option i thought of is a JZ.. but its not got enough behind it to be a JZ, unless its being silenced somehow.

Ok.. i've had another listen to it.. i'm left with 3 options here.. its either an MR2 running an odd engine, a JZ in either a Supra or Soarer, or its a retrofitted SA/CA18/20...
Personally.. i'm still liking the JZ idea the exhaust is a bitch though... you can hear the exhaust clearly, however the engine itself is a hard one to place.. It's either running a high Psi if it has a turbo, or it's N/A ... and i'm leaning towards N/A personally.
Soo.. yea.. i'm still thinking a JZ.. but.. the gear range is a little low.. so i'm trying to think smaller.. 4 cyl.. and see what i can think of.. lol.. i suppose i could be wrong and it could be a AGZE, just using high flow pipes.. hmm... i'll ponder on this some more.

Hmmmmmmmmm. It wouldnt be a certain high-revving British motor would it? (I know its not revving high there, but it does have an interesting low note.. or maybe its just the sound fussyness
Otherwise Id say its a 6 of some sort.

meh the newer ones sound pretty good to, not that you can really hear them anyway, even with the window down ,as you hit the limiter is not noisy at all, very refined and winds out well, 4krpm- redline it flies, not too much below 4 K though.

The quality is so poor, I was leaning towards Porsche Boxster first listen - then I saw the post saying it hit redline!! Wrong beat too, not thrummy enough. Since you said Toyota engine, that ruled out all the straight-sixes (not smooth enough) leaving . . .
Some form of Camry/similar V6 I don't know the engine code for/
Hurrah!
Does it sound that meaty in-person?

Haha, no prizes!! Well..except WELL DONE haha
Yep, it sounds that good in person..even better in some ways..as the quality is a little low.

Now now, play nice
Cold air intake, noisy filter+airbox, extractors, no mufflers (replace with straight-thru resonators).
BINGO ! Quad-Cam aural funland ! !
I wanna do all that to my Ex's 3.0L Quad-Cam Magna, to unleash the strangled N/A War-Cry within, but the car ain't mine, and she's my Ex . . .
Go Figure.
