change the differential ring gear in an e58
Tue, 03 May 2005 12:43
Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to take the 4.3 diff ring gear and out put sharft gear from my c52 and place it into the e58 box (which has a 3.9).
Or should i just go for the c56 box? are they stonger than the c52?
Thanks,
Ty

The gears are different between the E58 and the C series boxes. The AW11, SW20 and ST205 all had E series boxes with 4.3 diff gears though.

I have no idea what ratio is in your gearbox, I only know the ones I listed.
Why not test it and see what it is? Turn the engine by hand in 4th gear and see how many times it turns over to turn the drive shafts one rotation.
