Toyota oil pressure senders.

Does anyone know if its possible to get an oil pressure sender that's smaller than the 3S-GE Gen I type? I went to swap it over to my new motor but it fouls on the throttle body and water outlet bolts. Any ideas? Is it possible to get an extension welded up to it? Bit peeved that I cant use the stock Oil Pressure Gauge...

Go to a hydraulic shop. Ask for a variety of angles or extensions to suit. Purchase. Fit. Feel the love.

can these senders be used with aftermarket pressure guages (electrical) say on a 18rg as long as i get it to fit?

if you get one that is the correct output range yes, try vdo website for their collection of senders in different ranges.

baha profit
yeah just put a 45 degree elbow in the block and screw the sender into that. or if your really short on space you could put a barbed fitting in the block and run a hose to the sender somewhere else. then you just have to run an earth wire to the sender.

Seriously i would run a hose somewhere else. Having adaptors snap off in the block is NOT fun.

Yeah, true.. Just for clarity I thought I should post some pictures. The sender screws into a threaded hole on the side of the head.
Sender switch:
Old pressure sender:
The bits circled in red are where the sender fouls:
I thought it might be possible to cut off the black tab on the right in the pic, but it would still foul on the bolt for the water outlet. It only need to be extended 15mm or so to thread into the hole, that should be fairly safe shouldn't it?

yeah i think so, you prob wouldnt even need a bend just an extension.
