Started with a AE-82 4A-LC CSX, and dropped in an AE-82 4AGE.
It is in an going Finally!! Thanks to all the help from the guys on toymods. After all my stupid questions and worries, I had no Major problems. The conversion was made easy as I had a complete donar car. Any questions about the conversion, just ask!
First things First we needed to pull the new engine out of the donar car, as this was on the front lawn with no wheels it seamed like the easiest place to do it.

Then after a few weeks, the wire loom along with the dash had to come out to make way for the ECU and the new cowl loom.

Now it was time to rip this slow(but reliable) heap out.

Out she comes

Then We set about pulling out the fuel tank and upgrading the lines.
Not going anywhere in a hurry

Then the new engine was put in and hooked up

That was all in a days work! It took another day or so to hook up all the stuff (radiator, PS, A/C, etc) and I needed to get new boots put on the twincam shafts. Then chucked some fuel in her, and away she went - very very loudly as it was straight pipes all the way to the exhaust place!
Have done 2000kms in her now and she hasn't missed a beat. just a few electrical issues to work out and an oil leak still to solve but that is it.
All up it cost me about $1500 bucks(that is including all the new oils, filters, boots, etc) the donar car cost $750 and had done 249,000 kms but passed all tests and the box is fine. I also have upgraded the brakes to 4 wheel discs also from the donar car. After stripping it I got $20 for the wreck, removed and all!!
All up a cheap and fun upgrade.
Once again thanks to all the help I received.
Cheers

So you just replaced the parts in the red '82 with the efi gear from the white '82? Nice. Very easy way to go about it!

that's pretty simple indeed! Any plans for the car now you've got a decent engine in her? Also, how's the timing belt going?

Yeah, plans are for a new cam and a computer down the track. The timing belt is fine, as I replaced it before I dropped the engine in!
The braces are going in soon, I just need to make a plate to bolt them to on the firewall as the single cam cars didn't have the nuts welded inplace from the factory.
