Question for you -- one of the people at work recently got a puppy (they named it pat-pat which apparently means bum-bum in Chinese because it's a pomeranian/maltese and has a cute butt) and wanted to know if you can buy something like a thin clear sheet of plastic to stop the dog scratching it up. Any ideas?? I don't even know if layering the door with multiple coats of varnish or polish etc would work either.

what exactly do you want to cover up?
and if its a non-painted surface, maybe sticking some of that clear adhesive "sticky backed platic" on there?
the kind they cover books with.. comes in a variety of designs too...
i think its called contact?

Really??? It doesn't mean bum??? Hmm I think I'll have to raise it with her tomorrow. She should definitely know better!! How funny.
I don't know about putting contact on a door. Wouldn't it ruin the paint when you peel it off??

Just tell them to teach the dog not to scratch the door.
If you can't do that, you aren't a good master.

if its the porous paint that you stick on walls and shit it will, however if its that glossy shit thats on doors and windows and crud it shouldnt...
try it on a little bit of the door first?
might be able to put something on to make it less sticky?

Hmm I'll have to mention it to her, don't want to crush her but I'm sure someone else will pick up on it so she may prefer being prepared.
I agree - training the puppy would probably be the best idea.
