compression question Thu, 05 May 2005 12:08 Go to next message
ok im planning to rebuid my smallport 4age, but i would like to use GZE pistons so at some stage it can become a 4agte. from what i can gather my compression ratio will go from 10.3 (standard) to 8.9 (standard + GZE pistons) is this correct?

i would like to know how detremental to non turbo performance 8.9 compression will be?

you'd notice it for sure, less throttle response, less overall power/torque. you'll end up using more fuel too because you'll have to use more throttle to drive at a normal pace.

Could you bring it back up by using a thinner headgasket?
