HELP PLZ:AE86 4AGE Air filter

Hey guys, put a GE in my sprinter, but funds have just about dried up, so I have nothing in the way of a filter for the intake, what can I do to fix this cheaply, but so I don't suck heaps of crap into my intake?
I don't wanna get the car wired up but not be able to drive it cause I don't have a filter on it!
I just need something that will last a few weeks so I can pay off my debts and then get something permanant.
Thanks heaps for any help.
If it helps, I still have the original air box with filter from the AE82 that donated the engine along with the rubber pipe connecting it to the intake, but I don't really wanna butcher it!

you can buy pod filters for like 40 buks from any auto store auto 1 springs to mind otherwise buy some flyscreen mesh from your hardware store and put some thin cloth over the top then zip tie it to your inlet manifold/afm make sure its on tight tho. You can also put some filter oil onto it aswell.
I ran this type of setup on my 4age seemed to work ok

you serious? you'll spend a whack on a conversion, then skimp on engine destroying shortcuts? hmmmm 
"what can i put in my engine instead of oil, its so expensive"
just spend the $40-100 it costs, or leave driving the car until you can afford it

driving it for a couple of weeeks without a filter isnt that bad

I know it is cheap and stupid, but i had some things go wrong which I wasnt expecting, my work hasnt payed me properly and i owe lots of people money, but its all cool now, found a pod I can borrow till i have the cash.
