mines a whore to get into reverse sometimes, i dunno why, usually letting the clutch out in neutral and pushing it back in solves the problem but..

i could ram it into gear if i liked it rough...

sorry im not helping at all Confused

i always go into first then into reverse, tends to stop it from crunching and if it doesnt go into reverse, clutch out, clutch in then try again. tends to more of a habit now.

does it still not go into reverse? have you tried again since the incident?

and if that doesnt solve it...maybe your gb is stuffed? but im no expert.

I go into third and then into reverse, this makes it slot into reverse with almost no effort. Going from first into reverse works aswell, but doesnt feel as nice.

re-clutching sometimes is needed too. I hate when it crunches, not only do u get that weird feeling all the way through your spine, its fukn embarrising!

Have tried putting in first then reverse but still no response. When i pull the gear stick all the way to the right i just cannot move it down at all. I think my gearbox is bunnnged up.

my box in the mr2 can be fairly stiff at times. i put it into second then reverse if that dosent slide in eaisly then neutral -> clutch out -> second -> reverse. or if its just stuck on the gate and not sliding in nicely just let the clutch out the tinyest bit just its *just* engaging, just enough to move the gears a tiny bit if usually enough to let reverse go in eaisly.

Try putting it in another gear, as suggested, and if that doesn't work too well, try turning the engine off. If it goes in easy then, something's up with your clutch system, and is fairly to fix.

Happens very rarely but I find its easiest to let the car move even a little bit lets it pop in perfectly. Either roll or just pop in first and accelerate so the car moves even a cm.

Could it be because the gear teeth arent lined up properly when your trying to push it in? (not familiar so its just a guess)

When my brother got a new box put in in his n14 pulsar it was fine for a few weeks but then all of a sudden WHATEVER you did it didn't go into reverse.

about a week later it just magically fixed itself.

Hmmm... Sounds like a problem with the gate that stops it going into reverse from 5th.
I found that if the gate wont let you in then put it into 4th and then into reverse. I always would put it into another gear before reverse also Smile
