could be all manner of things:
bits of the CAT?
bits of the exhuast turbine?
bits of carbon deposits from back of zorst valves, interior of exhaust manifold and nearby piping being burnt off by your exhuberant driving?
bits of valve and pistons?

Sounds bad, did you park on top of a volcano?
I would also be concerned about your drops in oil pressure (the two problems may or may not be related). You may have some serious probs if you lose oil pressure, check the level is ok.
Bits of catalytic converter as chuck said is a likely cause. If you have no cat, you can forget this though.

Dont have a cat, its a carbied 2T. The oil pressure was only dropping for the duration of the corners, which were taken quickly (I've got some pretty decent tyres and suspension) then the light turned off. Oil level is fine, just below full. I must say I thought that low oil pressure and sparks may be related, and thats what worried me. High revs + high G's + stock sump baffling would = oil surge, yeah? that was my conclusion.

Chances are the high-rpm thrashing loosened some carbon deposits in the combustion chambers, and that's what you saw coming out of the tailpipe.

Grouse, mabe we should all have scheduled thrashings at regular intervals
I think anything else shooting out the tailpipe would have had an adverse effect on performance, (ie. bits of rings or valves) which is something that I havn't noticed.
Thanks everyone.
Now off to build a baffled sump...

I'm getting all misty-eyed just thinking about my POS N12 exa. It used to do roughly the same thing - cept it would normally spit the burning chunks out on whichever poor sod was unfortunate enough to be following me (haha Drav ).
In any case, I'm reasonably sure it was just chunks of old oil & carbon deposits. The puss-bucket used to blow a lot of smoke too (read: billow).
