Toyota Service for SW20 Tue, 10 May 2005 12:03 Go to next message
The MR2 will soon be due for a minor service. The last one was done shortly before I bought it so this will be the first organised by me.

It has an unbroken history of servicing by Toyota which I will be continuing.

Of course some dealerships are better than others, so I am looking for recommendations, preferably based on first hand experience.

Some dealerships I am considering are Castle Hill Toyota, Ryde Toyota and Phil McCarroll Toyota (Waitara). Others are possible, conditional on distance.

Experiences/recommendations?

Only other one I would add is Chatswood Toyota, as they seem to specialise in some Jap imports(I know that SW20's were also sold ADM) which would make me think they have possibly more experience with SW20's, but again I've never been there so I've no idea.

ive worked on enough mr2's, supras, skylines, clubsports, porshes etc to know that they are just like every other car and any monkey such as myself can work on them. if all you care about is what the next owners gonna think and the xtra few dollars you'll get, go to a dealer. if you care about your car, the work done on it and want to save money, find a decent mechanic and stick with them.

I hear what you're saying EVOSTi. Definitely appreciate your comments. Without getting into a debate about the merits of dealer vs non-dealer servicing, I'll just say that I think there are more arguments for both approaches.

I've decided to try the dealer way. This is new to me. My aim here is to discover if other Toyota enthusiasts have had positive experiences with any of the dealers that have been mentioned.
