engine mount? maybe a nut has come loose
check gearbox mount too

the mounts look ok, is it possible that the timing chain is on its way out or the tensioner?

possibly, check timing, if ur car hasn't had the 100K timing belt change then it's more than likely

timing is spot on, but if i dont run 98oct it does ping, but i think that is my dissy or plugs, but it has been knocking well before i had my detonation problem

If i were to have a dodgy lead or dissy and plug, is it possible to hear this sounds even tho this only happens in gear
