i've been running one as well, on my KE15, and it has been excellent. i was also doing group buys for aussies, but no longer.
as long as you read up a lot (ie the Megamanual) first, you will learn a huge amount about EFI in general, and will demystify things for you.
the basic MS is a carby replacement, but with the other firmware ppl have written it does spark as well and more..
you have a lot of reading ahead of you

from what ive read they are not self programable as such, you can put a base map in and it will make corrections based on WB02 input and a AFR vs load table, but it still needs the base map
how wrong the basemap can be i dont know, i may play with it come time to get my Megasquirt runing
For all the people wanting to run toyota engines with the 24/1 tooth dizzys a guy on these forums has worked it out, i forgot his name (lmr23535235 <-- some numbers) i think heh
This coupled with the MSnS code the MS may be able to run dual post coils on a wasted spark 20v, gze, 3s, etc

this (MSnS with toyota ignition) is goal for me - hence the note in my sig about igniters and coil packs.
i expect to have running by july/august (at current rate of non-progress).
If you are considering MS, you should:
-read up, then read up more
-order or loan the stimulator for testing
-make a test bench and get a 12V supply
-get a decent multimeter
-document what you do and are planning to do
-get an old, cheap laptop -so you can get it grubby/damaged without worrying too much
-read up and research even more on what you plan to do
-buy 2 fire extinguishers
-experiment, profit and enjoy
base maps can be calculated with several tools these days - it would also be handy if more people posted up fuel adn timign maps (along with engine specs) so tuning wasn't such a PITA as it seems to be.
expect everthing to take longer than expected (a bit like doing an engine transplant?)
