Hi Forum,

My 1.6 carby engine in my corolla is feeling a little pathetic at the moment. I toyed with the idea of replacing it with a 20V 4A-GE but for a number of reasons i've decided against it.
So, instead, I was just wondering what simple things I could do to the engine such as air filters or whatever just to give it that little extra nudge in power and to make it sound a bit better.

Thanks,

Galta.

buy a ramflow filter for it, this will provide some throaty induction noise and will only cost you $50.

Its often important when considering any mods to the 4A-C engine to take into account that others have been there and done this before..they generally ask the same questions as youre about to ask as well, have you considered before writing this post to do a search of the website and all other 4A related sites, most, if not ALL your inevitable questions will be answered if you invest some time and effort, hope I havent delayed your search for the answers too long Smile

Yes, I did search the forums beforehand but no, everyone want's to replace the 4A-C with a 4A-GE (or use forced induction) and I don't want to do that. So this is why I am asking Smile

With that filter, is it specific to the engine or is it just a generic bolt-on thing that is compatible with many engines? Also, where could I go about looking for one?

Do you really want me to make you look silly?? I know for a fact the 4AC question has been answered by the same 3 or 4 people at least 6 times in these forums alone not to mention club 4AG, toyspeed NZ and twincam.com

I can see that youve really put in some effort so here ill help you.....

http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/viewthread.php?FI D=4&TID=4586

by the way i typed in 4AC mods in the search section and got 16 answers

then I typed 4AC and got over 10 pages of links!!!

and thats just at Toymods!

so dont be so bloody lazy!, read thru them , yes theres a lot of crap in between the facts but hey thats what its all about.

No offence but pull finger and put some effort in or piss off!

His car would have a 4a-fc in it would it not? Is the 4afc a twin-cam model?

I say this because the other day a guy told my he had a 4a-fc in his car and I said "ooo twin-cam, that would go ok?" and he said to me "Na its only och"

I just though I would lighten the mood with one of the more important events in my life Smile.
