1JZ-GTE, sequential or not? Thu, 12 May 2005 10:58 Go to next message
Quick question, 1JZ-GTE sequential turbo or just 2 same sized turbos?
Did a search but couldn't find anything.

Cheers guys.

non-sequential twin - same as a 1g-gte.
2jzgte is sequential.

What's the point of running a non-sequential twin?

And how hard is it to make it a sequential twin? Smile

Two smaller turbos have less effective rotating weight?....can come on boost quicker is the main reason I believe.

Very hard to make into sequential.

Easier to setup.

Also, people with 2jz's do the true twin mod to get rid of the sequential setup. This increases lag but also power.

The twin turbo 1jz was designed for fairly heavy cars so they fitted 2 small turbos on there so there is virtually no lag and it doesn't feel like a big fat biatch when it is off boost.
