best to rebuild? 4age

just wanting to know is it better having the 4age with the larger sized crank or the smaller one, because i have the both and i just wanna get sum peoplez opinionz on what is best to rebuild?

if its only a std rebuild both types are ok,
if you building a performance engine go for the later 7 rib , bigger crank and rods with oil squirters under pistons, also has higher compression std.

what are you doing? going boosted or staying na? the earlier 4age (40mm bigends one) would make a revvier na engine having lighter internals.

how can i tell what a seven rib is , is that by looking at the bottom end block on the outside?!!!

you can use either internals in the 7 rib block.

look at outside, intake side of block and will see difference in ribbing in the later model 7 rib blocks
