hey all,
just spoke to a guy today who has been using the kits for 5 years and he said there NOT koni, and a engineering shop in melbourne (or VIC) makes them. he tried to charge me $330 (no spaners).
just wondering if anyone actullay knows what/where this shop is and has a name/contact number. (im sure you could get them for way way cheaper direct)
thanks

You could just buy the Konis from ImportBitz. They are only $275 for a set.

Well I have the specification sheet here from the book where they faxed it to me and it has Koni printed across the top in unmistakeable letters so I believe thats a little more conclusive as far as evidence goes then the word of some guy who's been using them for 5 years wouldnt you say?
Of course its entirely possible they are not manufactured by Koni, but FOR Koni. However Im sure HKS and GReddy dont manufacture everything of theirs in house either yet no-one seems to mind.

they are made for koni, buy a melbourne engineering group. the guy who i talked to was one of the authorised koni imports/dealers (not just 'some guy') and he wouldn't tell me what company make them because of the obvious high mark up they put on them.
i know there all expensive, but i mean come on $300 for a 2" threaded steel tube and some nuts? (no offence to you, soarer21
i know even you'd get them for a whole lot more than they cost to actullay make, and you only making a small profit)
all i want to know is if anyone knows what company makes them?

Thats fair enough, however generally speaking, when dealing with manufacturers you will find they wont be interested in talking to you for several reasons. Koni probably buy them in batchs of 1000 or something, and your local guy there being a Koni dealer may not even know who the actual manufacturer is.
If you do find your manufacturer you may discover they will only talk to you if you buy a minimum 100 or 200 sleeves, but then you'll have to find 50-100 people to go into it with you, if you follow what I mean Sometimes certain ventures just arent worth the effort expended
