Gen1 1G-GTE Cam Covers onto Gen2 1G-GTE head

Hey all,
I want to replace the cam covers on my Gen2 1G-GTE with the cam covers from a Gen1 1G-GTE (Gen1 pic below..)
Basically I like the look of the Gen1 items and they have the indented writing on them and are nice and flat on both sides, unlike my Gen2 ones where the right hand side one has the oil filler cap sitting on a big raised section at the back.
What I wanted to know is the 2 oil breather hoses on my Gen2 covers are on the sides of the raised section with the oil filler cap. The one on the Gen1 cover is almost in the middle of the cover.
Would the Gen1 covers bolt up to the holes on my Gen2 head and would it matter if the oil breather is in a different place?

man those gen-1 cam covers look awesome... much better than the gen-2 ones
shame with the gen-2 style of the intercooler piping over the top of the engine, it will make it difficult to to see the gen1 cam covers you're gonna put on there....... still, it looks nice

They fit no worries, i have them on my motor, though the covers are about 15mm taller then the ones you would be replacing but all my cooler piping clears no worries so i cant imagine you would have a problem.

I had a set lined up when I was going to build up my 1G, I was going to polish them up and paint the lines red and the writing blue i reckon it would have looked hot!
you should do that earthweb
i was going to use 1GGE cam covers tho

Just a thought - the gen 2 covers have lots of bosses for supporting the intake pipes etc... how are they going to be held up using the gen 1 covers?

I'm more curious how you're intending to fill the oil up if you're using the factory IC pipes. They're the only reason Toyota moved the filler higher and backwards.

I've got custom stainless piping anyway as I've got a single turbo conversion and different fmic.
