Fark, $1000 body!

Got a quote for a "JR" style body kit for my AE92 from carmate.com.au and the bastard costs $1000. That's not too bad considering you get both spoilers, wing and side sjirts. Then paint is another $800! I wonder how much for the full car from somewhere else? Anyone know of any cheaper places for body work? I really want a rear bumper from an AE92 Corolla CSi, but something fancy for the front.

having all the fancy wings and stuff aint that practical unless you have the motor to back it up
Get the 4agze - have hella fun - enjoy your car more for the driving experience - not the looks - and then build your car from there

All, all,
I realise that this amount of cash for a ricey appearance is crazy. So much so that for my Rolla, definitely new engine before body work (or at least nice, but cheap wheels). Respraying the bumpers I have will do me thank you!
I have never seen 4AGTEs for sale. Anyone know the going price? I'm thinking 20 valve silvertop will do my insurance more favours.

There isn't a factory 4A-GTE for sale, thats why you haven't seen them. People just get a 4A-GZE with its forged internals, make up an exhaust manifold for the turbo. Bit more mucking around and bing-bada-boom, 4A-GTE.

PISSOFF !!!!!
NAH its really really really up to you mate !!
- good looking car is good.. i know for a fact
- a fast car.. that is stealth IS also VERY fun !
work out what u want before you go spending ur money.. take a ride in some of ur frends cars... i.e. rice cars and fast cars.. see what tickles ur fancy ! unfortunately i would be inclined to think that going the performance road will be more satisfying

I think I will go.... performance.
Ricey cars can look okay, but too much is easily done and with a car worth only $7000, I can't exactly take the kit with me, so it is money saved towards the next project. At $1000, a 20 valve silver top sounds good for another few hundred (though a front cut'll cost way more).
Plus, it seems useless to rock up next to a riced up civic in a hot-LOOKING Crolla, issue a challenge and drag off knowing you don't have the goods under the bonnet. Imagine the humiliation!

its settled then... by the way... u WILL have to set aside some money for 'additional things' that may pop up !!
just coz the engine is 'so cheap' does not mean the conversion will be !!

'Tis settled. Imagine the riced up Honda's embarrasment when he is whipped by a stock looking Rolla WITH the goods under the bonnet.
Money saving starts now.
