Need some info on 1/2JZ-GE Sat, 14 May 2005 09:24 Go to next message
I need to know what the dimensions for each motor are please.
I did a search and came up with about 750mm long and 350mm wide but need the height,as well as someone to confirm or deny the above numbers.
Also would a GTE inlet manifold fit the GE motors? My guess is they would but just need to be sure.
Thanks.

I'll measure one up when I get home from work tomorrow morning. 750mm (+/- 10mm) is about right.

As for the GTE manifolds, no they don't fit. Totally different for intake and exhaust.

My 2JZ-GTE is about 650mm wide including manifolds, but I suppose the GE would be a bit narrower.

This thread might contain a small amount of useful stuff. What's the plan?

thanks for the link i missed that on the search.
The plan is to put one in a clubman that a guy has but the chassiss is already built and designed for a crummydore V6.
I want to use the 1/2JZ-GE if possible but depends on size and wether they can be tuned to pass current emmisions.

Might be a bit heavy for a clubman, they're an iron block and by no means a lightweight. Have you considered something like a 1MZ? Much lighter and far more compact than a JZ engine, and being more modern it would be easier to pass emissions. Food for thought.

Something about a 3S gearbox mating to them as well - bellhousing might be worth investigating?

Whats the 1MZ out of?
being road regoed it would come in heavy anyway so weight is not a huge factor. Was hoping to get it on the road at 6-700kg all up.
The engine bay measures 640 wide by 850 long and have to consider the steering and pedal ass on the right will cut into the width as well.
Still i'm open to all possible choices at the moment, just thought the JZ would be the go but if there is something better then i will check it out.

MZ series V6s are all alloy. Also they are a 60* vee so quite compact.

Whats the 1MZ out of?

Avalon and late-model Camry. They're an awesome engine which unfortunately has been fitted to some pretty dull cars.
