WTD RA23 axle Sun, 15 May 2005 04:02 Go to next message
I'm not 100% sure what axle I actually need, but I think it's an RA23. It is a T-series diff, but it has the larger-style bearings than the TA22 axles, and isn't as long as another set of axles I have that have the bigger bearings (unknown origin, maybe RA60?)

I'm in Ipswich, needing one axle.

Ben: Were those RA40? They are too long. The axles in my car use the same bearings (big), but they are shorter...

I have a pair of TA22 axles, and a pair of RA40 axles, that I would be more than happy to swap too...

Ben: No, it's definately not a TRX diff, because I used your RA40 carrier in it for awhile. The RA40 axles I got from you are exactly the same as the axles that are in the car, except they are 30mm longer. Same splines and bearings and everything else. Apparently RA23/28 axles are shorter than RA40/60.

Measurements I got from my dodgy tape measure, from flange to end:

TA22: 550mm
RA23: 555mm
RA40: 585mm

All have same splines, TA22 has smaller bearings.
