I have nearly finished the conversion from a ep91 glanza to an ep91 starlet engine is in running idles good, little smoke but hasn't been run for a decent amount of time yet, the only problem i have which is quite bad is that driving it goes to 3k rpm then very very slowly creeps up to about 4 no higher? i merged the glanza instrument cluster into the starlet, and 2 plugs near the ecu and one to it, basically wondering if anyone knows what would cause this, i don't know much at all about the toyota engines
i'm thinking that maybe map sensor or another sensor isn't connected right, oh and i electrically disconnected what i believe is the factory boost controller leaving the pluming to it for now and installed a turbosmart one, but left the both boost settings on min, when its reving up around 3k the first light in the tacho guage comes on, then about 3.5k the second comes, is it meant to come on the soon? feels good up to around 3k then just backs off but does it very smoothly no jerking just slows down? any suggestions, diagrams or ideas would be welcome, thanks

Also heard that you can tune the engine, by shorting certain wires in the diagnostic plug? anyone know anything more about it then that?
