My car's heading on to 240,000kms.
I think the chassis might need some stiffening now after the years of abuse under my hands.

Yup factory turbos still. Like I've said before, its pretty much been treated like shit. 40,000 ks between services was once normal Not any more though!! Never had a real problem, except for a little bit of black smoke every now and then.

My 300 has done 178000. Bitch. I've owned it for two weeks and already I've had to do the water pump. And even though the timing belt was done at 145000, it has already stretched and put the left bank out half a tooth.

I forget how much my old corolla had done. I think it was in the 300,000 range.
But my current car is sitting pretty on just over 60,000 right now.
I bought it in 2000 with 33,000 on it.
And ever since I've had it, it's had nothing less than optimax/bp ultimate.
Can anyone else beat me for a daily driver years/km's ratio?
Mines a 1995 model.

my rolla is up to 228,000 .. generally never have an issue with it. Only once has it ever stopped me from going anywhere besides it being in the shop for a general service (or my stupidity)..
was driving home on Monday (that REALLY hot day.. and A/C on full the whole way), I blew the radiator top tank.. ah well, at least it was a fairly easy thing to fix.

I can't beat you apollo but my sister and her husband can. She sold her festiva when they got married and kept his car...a VS SS Commodore...yeah a bit of a difference there. She works out of the town she lives in so cranks up the k's. They have 380,000k's on the car now and it's only a 1995 model. They have had no problems with the car at all and it still has the origional exhaust!! It has a new clutch and thats all in terms or repairs. She lives in outback NSW (Balranald) and sits on 140-160km/h (safe speed out there) all the way to work and back so the car has kept moving quite fast. The ol Bombadores aren't too bad at all

Nah, I meant beat me as in lowest km's/age of a daily driver.
EG: If you have an 8year old car that has only done 55,000, then you win.

Well my car is daily driven, 54 years old and only reads 45,000 miles. Thats less than 1,000 miles a year.....
Of course some idiot left a digit off the end of the speedo when they built it.

Oops sorry Apollo...my bad
But has anyone else out there know of anyone that has HUGE amounts of k's on a new car.
I heard that a radio DJ does the news in Melbourne on TV everyday and drives 300k's each way to another town to do a radio show. Being such a high profile person he would have the bees knees car so it would have some serious k's on it. THat would be a car i'd like to buy 2nd hand becase it would be very cheap for what you get.
I saw in Brisbane a 1996 740iL BMW with a TV etc and in perfect cndition sell for $23,500 because it had almost 300,000k's. Those BMW engines would be built perfect wouldn't they and 300,000 should be nothing right??

a 7-series beamer may be built well, but *any* engine you'd start to worry about at 300 000.
and, to be perfetly honest, I'd say an SR20-DET is a better chance of lasting 300 000km than a 7-series bmw.
same with a 1jz

A mate had a non turbo Silvia (SR20DE) and he bought it with 30,000ks and in no time at all had 200,000 on it. He had it on the rev limiter on every gear change and never touched it (no oil changes or anything) and had no problems. THe car was virtually brand new when he bought it and in the 2 years he had it he killed it but the engine still was great. Bought it for $15,990 and sold it for $1500.....OUCH!!
He now has an Impreza and it's going down the same path. He really doesn't deserve a datto

I spose if I drove my car for commuting, I'd get the k's up, but I've still done 55 000km in 2 years, which means I've doubled the odo.
1/96 - 5/01: read 55 000km
5/01 - : now reads 117 000km
Got a company car for commuting & work use (bout 60 000km per year in that).
When I lived in the country, I was changing work cars bout every 6 months at 40 000km & others were doing that in 3 months.
I know someone who does a country mail route & bought a new liberty with the first 3yr/unlimited km warranty. Managed to get to the 350 000km service during the warranty , which included an engine & gearbox rebuild at the 300k

Well my ke70 is rumoured to have over 400,000 on it but only shows 200,000 due to a military style haircut by the previous owner. the engine and gearbox are now only about 15,000 k's old and all the rest of the running gear(diff, wheelbearings, shox springs etc) are less than 30 000 k's.
my r31 has 256000 k's on board and 3 owners(all original). compression is still excellent and so is the 4sp auto. no strange noises at all.
I used to have a series 2 rx7 (2 years ago) from wayback in 1981 that had only just got 120,000 on the clock with a full service history which got sold to fund a move from tassie to shep. and my ols 4age ae82 had only 130,000 k's when it met its maker in jun 01 (hit a light post).
As far as high k's go, we had a apr 01 vx commo come into work in sep 02 with 160,000 kays on the clock(i dont think the engine ever stopped cept for oil changes!)

Hi
These are the current reading from my cars
ZZT-231 22,500km
MA-61 154,456km
*SA-63 430,658+km
*-Note The previous owner altered the milage less then what it has done. And the speedo had been broken for 2 months while tavelling from Warrambool where my brother use to work to Melbourne He was doing well over 1000km a week don't ask about how much he spent on petrol during that period. The car has signs that it done well over 500,000km but it is still going strong.

The odometer in my old Commodore stopped working soon after I bought it... I drove it like that for over 50,000km and then got it fixed just before I sold it. It was awesome, all the other instruments worked just not the one that indicated how worn out the car was.

I'm past the 350K mark, that's just for the chassis tho, current motor is on about 25 Thousand...mind you, this is my 3rd motor...
1ST came out at 274K - Looked pretty terrible
2ND came out roughly 320-325 - Toast...
3rd seems to be doing OK but I'm sure I'll kill it sooner or later...2S-C's aint hard to lunch...

My RA40 had something like 33klms on it the last time I drove it before it was sold.... But I had taken it almost around the clock once. it had 1796klms when I bought it (Hard to believe I spent that much time in it )
My new car however has just over 304100... and even that has done almost 5000klms in the last month or so.
