Did the RG's ever come out with aircon??

We dont have a problem with gassing
ours has been convered to R134a
As for the older gas, i've heard that a lot of pannel beaters know where/how to get the old gas

Yeh i was pondering on this also cos i have operational A/C on my 18R-c, but on the RGeu theres dizzy and inlet manifold etc right where the big compressor is mounted on the non-crossflow engine.
Anyone adapted the Air Conditioning from an 18Rc to 18RGeu?? not that i really give a shit about A/C, its just that i have a dark coloured car that gets amazingly red-hot on sunny days. And guess what SUMMER'S HERE.
I dont think theres room on an 18rgeu, maybe on the solexed version. Where would u put it tho ??
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know which type of gas my stock a/c would use? its a 77 18Rc. I think my mums mitsubishi had to have its gas converted to the legal version a coupla years back and that car is from the mid 80's....
Ahwell who needs aircon, it probably would work like shit under a black bonnet anyway..
PEACE

it will use r12 which is a CFC and is now banned so you need to convert it to r134a which is a HCFC.

Look at the pic above... the aircon compressor is bolted to the cylinder head on the exhaust side of the engine, totally different to the 18R-C. I have an aircon bracket on my 18R-GU, but unfortunately I can't find a compressor that fits.

I was having the same probs when living in townsville. how to aircon the 18rg. Mine is missing that funny little water pump thing that mounts above the altinator, so i was looking there, but then i had dreams of getting a super charger, which would have to have gone there instead. now i live in the gold coast, and found 1g-gte front cuts lying pratcically everywhere. complete with turbos, and aircon...
