Microtech LT8 with 4agze questions Thu, 19 May 2005 10:58 Go to next message
Hello, I got a mate who has a 4agze currently running all factory toyota ecu, coil packs, ignitor etc.

He is changing over to a Microtech LT8.

Can the microtech run the standard 4agze ignitor?
Its the bigport/afm version 4agze if that makes any difference.
Does anyone have a pin out diagram of the 4agze ignitor so I can work out how to connect it up to the microtech.

Does the microtech work with the 4agze cam angle sensor alright?

Also, with things like the supercharger bypass valve/bov etc. Those all seem to run off the factory ECU. Does anyone know what you are meant to do with all that when you go aftermarket ecu?

The supercharger clutch I understand alright and will just use an output on the microtech to turn the relay on at a certain rpm.

But totally confused about all the other bits n pieces.. man turbo is sooo much simpler Razz

Cheers
Joel

Re: Microtech LT10(8?) with 4agze ignitor Thu, 19 May 2005 11:15 Go to previous messageGo to next message
Actually just did a google search and found some results, haha funny enough from toymods (seems google searches toymods posts better than the toymods search engine?)

Anyway does sound like its ok.. But if its cool will keep this thread open just to get clarifcation and if the CAS is ok with microtech also.

Cheers
Joel

hey joel if the micrtoeck does not have a x in its name then u need external igniter

4agze one is fine

if it has an x like ltx 8
then it has onboard igniters

but with the lt8 use the 4agze and u have a 50 50 chance of gettin it right

so if the engine backfires then the timing is 180 out so just swap the coil plugs from one coil to the other

Thanks for the info all! It is LT8 I confirmed.

Hey so any tricks with wiring it up? I have been assigned the fun job Smile in return he'll fix some rust in my car (is a panel beater).

So yeah, main concerns I can think of would be finding the right wires at the CAS and Ignitor.

use the white wire on microtech that is a trigger
for triggering the supercharger relay

its a neg trig so it will work ok on the gze relay

find the black/yellow wire that goes to ecu from supercharger relay

then leave the std toyota thermo trig to do the fans thats if its in a fwd

cause u will have no more outputs left foir triggering things

u cant run the idle motor
or any of the vsv's or soleniod valves
unless u get microtech modified
even then i think on a lt8 i think theres not many outputs

Thanks for that info mate.

Is it ok not to run any of the vsv stuff?

For some reason this guy reckons the microtech model he got has like 4 outputs.. but i looked on the website and lt8 only has 1.. maybe he got another model..

do you know how the toyota ignitor works, like what wires you use for the outputs on the microtech?

it might have 4 outputs but u have to special order it

yer use the toyota igniter

blavk/orange is one input to igniter from microtech
black/yellow is the other

they should be 2 small thin wires form the ecu

i have done microtechs before and never worried bout the vsv's

one is for fuel press
other is for the bypass

in the past i havnt hooked em up and never had any probs

Yeah i think this is a special microtech with extra outputs.

Ok cool maybe i wont worry about the vsv stuff.. so just unplug it, but leave the vac lines in place?
