It's $20 for a 1 ltr bottle at Autobarn and that only does one tank, making a full tank cost around $80 to fill!.
Can you buy the stuff in bulk? Where I am I likely to find it?
I'm after octane booster because the best fuel you can even get here is premo.

What brand is it you are using?
The Octane104 stuff is about $25 a bottle here and is good for a couple of fills at least.

I just got some Nulon octane booster from Supercheap for $18. It says on the bottle that you could use it for 2 fills if you want.

I love your sig and agree totally Laughing

Nulon make a few octane boosters. theres the "fuel clean and octane boost: part no.OBC and a high performance octane booster.said to lift the fuel 7points..

Anyone had any experience with them? Noticeable gains?

Sorry to kind of high-jack the thread Smile

yeah the octane booster by nulon and clean thingy is the one ive tried...I get them.....free......yeah.. Evil or Very Mad well anyway i use that every month i use a bottle when filling up.

As for gains.hrm i can say that it has improved the fuel consumption, but may have smoothened out the rev range of the car. If that makes any sense Confused But i suggest and recommend it, it can only be good

i used to use a few litres of toluene in the tank, did cost about $50 for 20litre drum, id mix it about 10%-15% with premium, works out quite cheap, but it is nasty stuff, so be carefull.
matty.

Most octane boost is ~$20 for a tank.
The ST185 was built back in 91 and designed for premium fuel at best.
98 octane is good if you can get it but I wouldn't go throwing $20 bucks worth of octane booster in the tank every fill.

My recommendation... leave the octane boost for track days or occasions where you know you'll be thrashing the car hard.

If the car pings under normal use double check and reset your timing to factory specs.
You may also want to try different service stations in your area as the quality of their underground tanks and the frequency of refills can greatly effect the fuel quality.
