4AGZE tech questions Tue, 26 November 2002 00:13 Go to next message
I am STILL in the market for a GZE rolla but I have a few questions to ask.

Standard what do they roughly put out in kw? I heard about 120kw at the fly. I would be aiming for around 150 at the treads, is it possible with the bellow mods.

From what I have heard they run 8 PSI of boost out of the box and your can get pulley kits to take them all the way to 15 PSI. What is a safe boost level for standard internals and what power gains would you be looking at with this safe boost level + bigger front mounted cooler + exhaust extractors and if required after market management?

I have also heard that it you crank the boost you got to mod the standard blow off/bleed valve to stop the charged air from just escaping from it when boost level gets higher than stock.

From what GZE's I have seen in magazines one had your run of the mill type 1 BOV and the other a type 2. Does this mean you completely remove the standard unit? Also do these things actually blow off (trademark turbo pitssh) or are they just used to bleed the air? For what I gather about forced induction cars anything pumping out around 12 PSI at around 5000RPM that has the gate shut on it (jump off the gas to change gears) is gonna blow off.

Any help would be great

to get that sort of power you are gonna have to get rid of the supercharger as it is too small and wack on a turbo. The supercharger is good for about 14 psi I think after that it just blows hot air and no good.
gze internals are strong, easily handle 15psi, I think yogi ran his at 35psi or something for a few months before it blew and that was a $300 2nd hand bottom end hehe
above 15psi though u will need a aftermarket computer
as for the BOV I believe because the supercharger is on the engine side of the thottle bodies it won't do the turbo pshhh, I think luke tried hehe

*Bump*

So what is up with the cars I mentioned having BOV's? I might check to see if the sc was mounted differently (pretty sure the mitsubishi would have the toyota sc mounted before the throttle body)

Anyway, any more tech notes, even tell me what to search for in the archives (searching for 4AGZE brings up some results!).

Don't have a 4AGZE but would luv to have one. Reckon they're the best bang for bucks motor within the 4AG family.

Um ... there is some technical info here at:

www.club4ag.com
www.4agze.com (duh! Laughing)

if you haven't tried these links already. Cheers!
