Tie Rod (MA61)?
Sun, 22 May 2005 04:47
Hey All,
How would I know if the tie rods are buggered? I don't want to go genuine (for cost reasons) so is there aftermarket alternates to replacing them?
*If it doesn't make sence, I really need sleep
Cheers.

Remove them from the strut and have a fiddle with the socket, this will instantly tell you how much excessive play there is in there.
Might need to buy some new castle nuts before attempting this job!

Other way it to pull the wheel (not steering) off and rotate the strut a little bit.
If the strut moves but the steering rack doesn't, they are fucked.
