So much for staying a low 11 second car

used a 40 shot to get it on stall.
1.5 sixty foot on street tyres i felt was a bigger accomplishment than running a 10.7 it was an awesome feeling.
it axle tramped badly on the first pass. second pass it smoked to the tyres though ran 11.3 at 124
third pass it tramped twice then hooked up and ran the 1.5 sixty foot. so i think it may break into the high 1.4's i dont think it can run faster than 10.50 unless i use the gas all the way.
though i may do it as my class allows it.
will probably do one street meet if i can to do some testing or go to a private test and tune. as i dont have a cage.
if i get kicked for no cage will probaly have a rest for 12 months, as the cage and saftey equipment i will need to get will be about the $3000 mark. and after going and seeing bruce at hardcore i am thinking of getting there stage one head. but safety comes first.

I estimate 527rwhp if it was manual but because it is auto with a big stall the number will be lower than that.
Doesn't really matter though, it runs 10's!

chris, i am more than happy with the results. i thought it may go 10.99 but to go well into the 10's i am overwelmed.
considering its IRS, street tyres, and so heavy yet it sixty foots same if not better than slick tyres cars with solid rear end that weigh considerably less is just amazing. HPI just called and told me i have run the lowest 60 foot times on street tyres in a RWD drive car in the country. which is huge considering quite a few of the other cars are solid diff not IRS.
considering the massive power levels people are quoting with stock cams and stock ecu and stock injectors but cant run over 114 mph with 405 rwkw just makes me even happier being that im only making 320 or so rwkw. just goes to show timeslips talk and bull shit walks.
i hung out with matt that owns HYPO77 and i must say he is a top bloke, very approachable. people living in sydney wanting to modify a 1j i would highly recommend him. his car is a work of art and the man can drive it too. from memory his best time yesterday was 11.2 at 131 which shows its making good power. he was running bf goodrich drag radials yesterday and had trouble getting to hook up, running 1.9 sixty foots which i think with a light car it will do consistant 10's with the slicks.

I know who you attacking and it undermines any respect you may earn by lowering yourself to bitch about it.
The car in question only claimed 331rwkw, any higher figures reported here ARE "bullshit", but bullshit produced by a dyno dynamics in shootout mode, something we are lead to beleive is indisputable. Anyhow we dont seriously think either car made that power so please dont quote that it did.
Congratulations and GROW UP.

30 time slips allan, thats since it was rebuilt. it is a full race spec box which was done by MV Automatics in SA. it still has overdrive and happily cruises along the freeway at 110kph at about 2350 rpm as it still has overdrive. unfortunatley it cant be transbraked but with 1.5 sixty foots, i dont think it needs it.

its a standard size a340 converter. the 3400 stall speed is sig as i can go with this size converter. i havent tried the lock up clutch yet, but i am liasing with MV automatics and Sean with the crown. he or i will be one of the first to try it. scares me it might fry the tyres at the top end. some on e has to be a pioneer i suppose.
Milan with the cressida that ran 11.3 has just gone to a 8 inch converter with a 4400 stall speed. he is changing to a 2jzgte aswell. should be interesting.

I had a good chat with Sean not long ago and he was mentioning the full lock up at WOT also. If it works and doesn't blow the box it would interesting to see what difference it has on trap speed.
What size is the standard torque converter?

Two words-
You C**T.
Beat my ET AND my fastest A340 title will you? (at least I've run 125 I suppose.....) =-(
Nice work dude. The 1.5 sounds awesome-I can't wait to try out my BFG's now (275/60/15-what were yours?)
I've been snowed under and was just about to reply to your email of a few weeks ago this morning-when I found this thread.
Get your timeslip into HPI and you'll be sitting at #2 behind the 8thsin supra (10.46)
(which incidentally pushes me back to 9th F***HEAD.)
If you get a chance, email me through a few more details on the Cefiro....(boost, injectors, ECU etc)
With any luck I should be hitting the strip for the first meet with the new set-up on June 19th-a mate has bet me a new steering wheel that I can't go under 10.7.
Do you have a cage in it, or was the 10.7 first and only 10 without a cage (ie did officials have a word?)
Again-nice work, and you s**k.

i was wondering what had happened to you mate. Grant at HPI got all the details on sunday so thats all sorted.
sean, honeslty i never expected to see a ten second pass out of it. i was optimistic that an 11.1 at say a 1.7 60 foot with mid 120 mph would be about it.
but i tried a few different launch techniques and hey presto it happened. 1.5 sixty foot felt awesome though it did tramp twice, i knew at the top end of the track that it was going to be a quick pass, i ran matt with hypo77 on that run and i was waiting for him to blow past me, when that didnt happen and when i was staring at the sand pit wondering if it would pull up i knew thats got to be a ten.
i expected an andra official to grab me on the way back but they didnt. next run was in the eliminations so i dialled in a 11.00 as no cage ment couldnt dial in under that. i went a softer launch for a 1.6 and backed of once i realised the other car had broken out by 2 seconds and cruised it through for a 10.91. i definately expected an andra official after that but no. so i made sure i didnt run a ten the rest of the day.
i am expecting a letter in the mail. i am currently talking to some potential sponsors to dish out some cash to pay for the cage and safety equipment.
i woulsd love to do a side by side pass with the crown mate, that would shock some people.
edited to include tyre size 255/50/16 cant fit any bigger

That is very interesting.
I suppose you are happy you went with the n20 and current stall converter rather than upping the stall without n20 now.
What are the differences between your turbo and Milan's turbo? Just wondering as you say he runs a higher stall than you as well as n20.

Congratulations and GROW UP.
p.s. siko will go h2h rollons with you any day.

head to head rollons,
i havent heard something so funny in years. what does this full sik supra want to test his long sighted vision to see if he can actually see the back of shanes car in a 400m run. or does he just want to run on the street cause his too embaressed to run ANOTHER mid 12. this cressida could finish a run get out put down the struggle rug open the thermos and have two cups of tea by the time your mate catchs up.
head to head, thats gold. you should be a comedian.

they had to weld on a cover of a pajero converter so the fins would fit.

That is very interesting.
I suppose you are happy you went with the n20 and current stall converter rather than upping the stall without n20 now.
What are the differences between your turbo and Milan's turbo? Just wondering as you say he runs a higher stall than you as well as n20.

i did get the converter reworked chris. it was upped to approx 3400. and its much more efficient now. the power holds from 4375 right through to red line now where it used to drop off in the top end of the rev range. the bigger injectors would have had a little to do with it also.
Milan told me he never made more than 240 rwkw. he said he hit the brick wall then. i have certainly hit the air restriction wall now and will need to open the head up to get more air into it. milan used 100hp gas right through the pass. he tries a TO4Z which is from memory about the same as the turbo im running. he then went to a 30/40 and made the same power but had better repsonse. he feels he had valve float at that power. thats why he went to the gas.
i am amazed how he got his to almost lift a wheel with a 1.7 sixty foot but mine went no where near lifting a tyre with a 1.5 maybe i need to put some rail way line in the back just once to get a wheel of the ground. he he he

Josh,
Jase was there but we had a few minor drama's. The clutch Hydrolics failed in Qualifing so he didn't get the two practice runs in. We got it sorted for the heats tho without any drama.
Unfortunatly he got beaten by an 18 second lancer in the semi final and I went home after that for some much needed panadol. (Damn N/A Rotory's)
