Allrighty, i just bought a ep71 starlet with a 4efte in it, the turbo on it is a ct12 but they are supposed come with a ct9. So is the ct12 a bigger turbo ? and if it isnt are there any other toyota turbos that are likely to bolt straight on ? Thanks.

I find it hard to believe toyota would make a turbo SMALLER than a CT12 They're the turbos found on 1G-GTE, 1JZ-GTE, 2JZ-GTE. allways used in pairs. But yes, if your engine is ment to have a CT9 then a CT12 would be bigger I suppose, allthough I don't know how much of a performance gain you'd get.

yeah, i figured they would be bigger, the guy i bought the car off seems to think they are actually smaller though. But then why would you go to all the trouble to put a smaller turbo on?
Its the smallest version of the CT12 as well, the CT12a is a little bit bigger.

CT12s have a bigger exhaust housing, but smaller inlet.
HPI did a hiflow turbo for their project starlet, you can find the scans online, i think at the aus starlet site.
