EOI: good cond 18RC and manual g'box Mon, 23 May 2005 10:11 Go to next message
have an 18RC and manual 5 speed almost certain to go. wanting to know what people think it's worth, it's in pretty good nick all things considered, it's obviously a fairly old engine, no idea how many k's on the clock was a replacement engine before i got the car. completely standard as far as i know. runs VERY smooth (for an 18R) once warmed up. surprisingly good engine.

known problems: vacuum advance on dizzy not working, choke not working, still starts on cold mornings well enough, just runs a little rougher until warmed up. air con not working (no belt, compressor may or may not work, i don't know)

g'box is a little notchy, and falls out of 5th gear (works fine if you hold it in place lol)

other then that it's a pretty good package in my opinion. doesn't even leak!!! gonna do a major service in the next week or two.

i'm looking for atleast $200 for the lot... can see running if you get in soon... replacing with a 1G

culd prolly get you $50 for the engine if your lucky considering most people are giving rc's away. as for the gearbox i doubt its worth much as it falls out of gear. you can always just chuck that in.

the g'box goes with it no matter... it's no use to me... for $50 you don't get the next major service... just the lot as is as is...
