Replacing power steering rack in an SV21

As luck would have it, 2 years and 10 months after getting a reco rack in the SV21 Camry, it died.
So yes, seeing as my budget to fix the car at the moment is about $0, I'm planning on getting a second hand rack from the wreckers and putting it in, crossing my fingers and hope it lasts at least a little while.
I'm reading the Gregory's manual at the moment, and this is what it describes:
(2) Remove the bolt retaining the universal coupling to the steering gear pinion
Umm, how do you even reach this bolt? Is there a trick to it? I can barely even see it!
(5) Remove the retaining bolts and nuts and remove the crossmember from the vehicle underbody
Umm... Doesn't the engine bolt to this crossmember?
(6) Remove the retaining bolts and remove the covers from beneath the engine
Do they mean the plastic covers?
(7) Remove the retaining bolts and nuts and remove the center member from the vehicle
Again, doesn't the engine bolt to this?
( Remove the retaining bolts and the through bolt and remove the rear engine mounting bracket and rubber insulator from the vehicle
Wouldn't the engine fall out???
Hmm... This looks, interesting. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance...

dont worry about a book, get the car up on stands and unbolt everything that connects to the rack, and pull it out. sounds easy, but its a bit of a shit job on an SV21, i did one a few weeks ago and it was a bitch.

They are not so bad the engine wont fall on your head because it swings on the front and rear (or left and right depending on how you look at the engine) engine mounts.
follow the book and if you die your family can sue Gregory's.

they are one of the more difficult racks to replace for a first timer, especially compared to a falcon or commodore. not so hard compared to an exa
