3T-GTEU in a TA22? Tue, 24 May 2005 12:42 Go to next message
Hey everyone,
I am currently in the process of putting a 3T-GTEU in a TA22 and i am just after a bit of technical help. Firstly, my current engine is a 2T head/3T block, and i was curious if i would really have to do much more then move the radiator slighty forward to actually get it to fit? I know it will bolt up to the standard T50 but what clutch and pressure plate do i use, the original or the 3T? Lastly i wanted to know if anyone knew of a disc rear end that would bolt straight up to a TA22? thanks for your help....scott

1. You don't need to move the radiator. The block is the same size as the original engine.

2. A 2T/3T clutch has a snowflake's chance in hell of holding up to a turbo engine. You'll need a custom built jobbie.

3. Don't expect the T50 to last long either. You should budget for a W5x conversion if you want your car to be reliable, especially if you have mods in mind.

4. No disc brake rear end bolts up, but the rear brakes are the least of your worries, you need to upgrade the fronts before you think about driving the thing in anger. Also the stock diff is a bit on the weak side, an upgrade there is advisable also.

5. Hope you've got your chequebook ready. Razz
